Once you have exited the Grütschalp cable car you can cross the train tracks thereafter follow the yellow/brown lines which indicate mountain view trail. This will take you up the mountain forest. Things to Know Before You Go to Mountain View Trail
It is imperative to note that if you want to go hiking in the mountains you should wear a good pair of walking shoes. Hiking shoes are great but a pair of running or sturdy walking shoes can do the trick. As long as the shoes can handle traction effectively then you are good to go. If it has rained recently the area could be muddy and you need shoes that will prevent any kind of slipping.
You can take your dinner or lunch at the hotels in the area. They offer cozy indoor seating with spectacular views of the alps. As well, you can sit any resting area or if the weather is good, in the Swiss Alps meadows and have your lunch 🙂 It’s a beautiful place to do it.
Do not forget water, some food, and anything else you may need. I would take something for rain protection, you never know if it will start to rain up there and it would be great to be safe from it.
